OFMC District III Junior Honors Recital
Students participating in Ohio Federation of Music Clubs local festivals earn ratings based on the quality of their performances. After earning four consecutive superior ratings and performing on their local recitals (recital performance waived for 2020), junior participants are invited to perform at the district honors recital.
District III Junior Honors Recital 2021 will be held at Christ United Methodist Church 3440 Shroyer Rd. Kettering, OH 45429 on Saturday, April 24, 2021.The program begins at 2:00pm. The church’s protocol will be followed. Currently it is for all people to wear masks in the building.
Junior Performers & Parents
As you choose which piece to play, short songs are best due to potential high volume of performers. Please arrive between 1:40 and 1:55 pm to sign in, tune instruments for performance if necessary, and find seating As an Honors Performer, please dress for the occasion and plan to remain for the entire recital.
Teachers
As you make selections for the program, keep in mind that many performers qualify to play on this recital. Short selections are appreciated. Cut out repeats. Please make sure your violinists and other string players have tuned their instruments prior to the start of the program. Remember that participation in the district honors recital is a prerequisite to participation at state convention where cash prizes are awarded to best performers. Performance at the state junior honors recital is also contingent on 5 consecutive superior ratings.
